Buyer vs Seller vs Dealer vs Auction House
Buyer vs Seller vs Dealer vs Auction House
A discussion some might find interesting. This conversation is about the sale of an SSR but as a limited production, limited market vehicle of recent vintage there is some commonality with our cars; especially the low mileage roadsters that seem to have come to market lately.
Mecum KC 2003 SSR - who got the best deal, buyer or seller? - Chevy SSR Forum
I am thinking if nothing else it underscores the very real costs of going through intermediaries.

Re: Buyer vs Seller vs Dealer vs Auction House
Sold price of $30k....Buyer out of pocket price of $31,800 (with 6% buyer fee)
Seller netted $26,250
$30k - $3k (10% selling fee) - $750 entry
SO if buyer paid seller directly $29,025, they both would be $2,775 richer and Mecum would be $5,550 poorer, THAT is who won that deal.
