I know we all love the Crossfire, but at some point, we move on. I gave my Crossfire to my daughter and son-in-law. They love it. I now have purchased a new Scion FR-S. It's our new road tripper!
What I do miss is the 6 speed transmission. We decided to go with an automatic on the Scion - my wife does not like shifting, so I bit the bullet. I really miss the manual, though...
Well it maybe not be exactly new but it sure feels like new. I increased the horse power over 50%, upgraded the top end performance and handling. Sure feels like a new car.
I did this by adding a SLK supercharger, upgraded 4.55 rear differential gears, BMW style rack and pinion steering and rebuilt the front end bushings. While I was in there I redid the head and rocker assembly to include larger breathing valves, new bronze guides, new springs, unleaded seats, and changed the compression from 7.5 to 8.3 and rebuilt the rockers to new status. New push rods and tappets.
This winter I will be adding disk brakes to go alone with the increase in "go"".
Well around O'town the Craigslist has page after page of Mercedes. Is a target rich environment. I also tend to fixate on engines (was Pontiac 400s, then Buick 3800s, now...)
I have a convertible but have always liked retactibles so bought an SLK320 to be a companion to the Crossfire. The coupe is a better road car and can carry more luggage but the SLK makes a really nice cruiser. Very nice and about 1/2 the miles for about the same price. Already had some mods (projector headlamps, Bluetooth radio) so did not need much. Is also an automagic which is better in city traffic.
Congrats on the SLK320 , nice car!
They are so many options for headlights for the slk ,i wish there were aftermraket headlights available for the Crossfire
Been autocrossiing/going to track days (why else a Wavetrac ?) Coupe with six speed, stiffer, flared wheels, and 200 lbs lighter is a much better track car, this is a cruiser.

Yes the coupe is very rigid , 200lbs lighter would give it some extra kick !
I dont track but do know my srt6 is a better handling car and gets off the line better with the wavtrak LSD.
srt6's should have come with LSD imo
