Default Ram 1500

Well I went and did it, I have been toying with the idea for a while now. Last Friday I sold my 2013 Durango to my Daughter and bought a new 2018 Ram crew cab 4X4 powered by the Hemi engine. Lots of rebates and dealer mark down brought it down in price over 10,000 dollars over sticker. It is not real fancy on the inside but I wanted the 20/20/40 front seat without a console so that it had 6 seats. So far so good.

I certainly approve of the color.

It is a nice color, it was between this grey or blue.

Nice truck! Been wanting one but the fancier Diesel 3500 version for towing a large boat and putting a camper on it.

Can't do that with a Crossfire.

What is the mpg like, my neighbour parks his three year old Ram as much as he can to save money. Another guy says the new model he has gets nearly twice the mpg of his old one, quite miserly.

Want a wild guess? I used to own a RAM 1500 Bighorn with a V-8 about 8 years ago. That was a great truck but only a 2WD so I eventually had to sell it when I bought a boat. On boat ramps, it is best to have a 4WD. So I replaced the RAM with a 4WD Grand Cherokee. I would guess around 16 MPG city/highway for the RAM. That depends on if you are a lead foot and how fast over the speed limit you typically drive. Their mileage drops dramatically the faster you drive over the speed limit.

I would pick a RAM over a GM or a Ford any day.

With only 250 miles on it and I've warmed it up a couple of times it is hovering at about 12.5 mostly city driving and The manual says to accelerate briskly some to help with break in. So the answer is I don't really know what it will end up being but I'm guessing 15 or so. Not nearly as good as the Durango but I can tell you this it doesn't take long to go from 40 to 70 in a 4 x 4.
