Under hood panel xfire and SLK 170 in red
Code scanner connection under panel..driver side

Hi people I hope some one can help me with this. I need to replace the under dash steering wheel trim for my Xfire..I want to know if this part is 100% compatible with the same in the MB SLK R170. For me is easier to find parts for MB. Please take a look at the pics. Also Im trying to remove the connection for the code scanner reader under the steering and I don't know how to remove it...I really don't want to break that part..please take a look at the second pic. Thank you for your help..I m trying to find an electrical problem and also I want to paint all the interior.

squeeze the 2 opposing gripped tabs and slide the base of the plug off so it can be passed through the hole

I know for sure that the small "V" shaped panel is the same, as I have an SLK one on my crossfire.
Slightly different color, but that's the only difference.

hi again people..finally I have the parts to replace but I need more help...I already removed the center console...now I need to remove the control panel (radio area with the control for the A/C,etc)..I don't want to crack any part aroun here. I m not sure if we have any post related to the removal of the radio and the panel in that area. Please take a look at my pics..I m just in this step. Any help or a link to another post? I know that I need to remove the radio first..thank you Center console done already.
I need to remove the radio and the plastic silver cover around the instrument..this is the delicate part that I dont want to destroy ..you know those tabs inside.
I need to remove this cheap radio and remove the silver cover. To replace the AC module and replace that radio.

The radio is removed with a small tool that slips in each side of the radio. How and what tool depends on the radio.
With the radio out you can see two screws which were hidden by the radio on the top face of the radio pocket, remove them and gently pry out the face plate at the top left and right corners with a plastic trim tool, there are two clips at the top left and right and one each side just above the bottom of the radio pocket, for a total of four clips.
