I believe in 62 years of admiring cars, the Crossfire roadster is the only one I have ever seen that looks as good, if not better, with the top up verses down.
With, of couse, the exception of what ever that monstrosity is. So sad

I always said that a Crossfire looked great every which way, coupe or roadster & in every color. Then Franc showed us this hot mess!!! Sad thing is that someone is going to buy that POS & be stuck with a vehicle that is basically totaled. I have seen some very nice convertible conversions - this is not one of them. I guess this goes to show how the roadster could have gone wrong ... oh so wrong! Poor thing - all the other Crossfire's will laugh & point at her!

Next time I won't do it.
I'll get Erzer to do it.
Actually, I feel so sad for this poor thing. I almost want to adopt it like a three legged kitten from a bad home and just give it care, and perhaps a proper top. wonder what it will go for? $5K?

I guess anything is possible with a sawzall! I'm getting digusted with seeing butchered crossfires ebay, some of the more recent ones were SRTs- like that one in Oregon with the low mileage but it had the limited interior swapped into it and limited/base wheels. And on top of that, somebody asked the seller (a Chrysler dealer!) a question about the interior and he said the camera must have "cut off" the SRT embroidery on the seats, when you could clearly see in another picture that they were limited seats. Is there a dealership out there that isn't crooked?
Then there was that butchered SRT in Florida that donated all its parts to that clown car with "SRT-6 package". The ****** bag who did that should be punished with only being allowed to own a Kia for the rest of his miserable life.
I wouldn't touch this "custom" ragtop if it was free. Do you really think they added the reinforcements to the frame (unibody)? The top canvas probably flaps around like crazy at anything over 30mph. Probably leaks water around the windows and every other mating surface too. And like somebody else mentioned, there are no pictures with the top down.

wow, how could someone allow this to happen, and from the way it reads it looked like this when he bought it, maybe the guy will be forced to trade it in on the cash for clunkers so it'll be crushed.
well, they probably told him there would never be a roadster made, so he made one, should have waited another year...dummy...that will sell for the 5K....I would buy for that price...but not a penny more, cause Franc knows, I WILL put a roll cage in that baby...

I PM'd the seller to see if he had photos with the top down. Stay tuned.
I find it hard to understand why someone would do that. Heck, he could have most likely traded his car back in (when they were worth something) on a new convertable and take a loss close to what he paid the dealer to do that.
ok guys - I've read your posts - but when it all said and done, step back and just think - someone ACTUALLY PAID to have that done to their car.
the older I get the more stupid people I meet and it leaves me with this question
Do you ever wonder how some people remember to take a breath?
