Default some drag time

Well, I took my 2005 SRT 6 coupe to the drag strip and I am happy with the results. My best time was a 12.87 at 108.18. I also ran a 12.92 at 108.12 and 12.94 at 108.19. There were also two SRT 8's there one ran a best of 13.35 and the other a 13.50. No one there really knew anything about how fast our cars are. The only mods I have to my car are K&N filters and a the resonator removed. Now I will have to get started doing some real mods. Well, tried to upload my time slip but it would not go. I will try again later.

Whoa! Those are some quick times.
Where did you run? What were the conditions like (temp, etc.)?

Oseola Dragway Indiana, it was about 65 and partly cloudy. I think I got my time slip to attach.

See my signature. Go to that site and join up PLEASE! I'm trying to get as many people signed up as I can, so we can get out own Portal on the site.

Running your car in that temperature def helps. It finally cooled off down to the 60's here that last couple of nights, and the car seems to have really come alive, A whole other animal. I can't wait till I get to the strip and run when it's cool out. BTW, it was 97-98 degrees with 110 heat index and 100% humidity when I ran the 13.36, so I think she has a lot better time in her...

I don't think my times will be a whole lot slower than that once I get some good runs with some good air and cool temps.

I think once fall rolls around and the weather gets more conducive to engine HP, we'll see a few others running like that...

Mine actually almost scared me a couple of times the other night, and the traction and stability control was working overtime...

Ya, I think they all are high 12 cars with the right conditions. I want high 11's now. My wife is sooo happy with me. But hey my other car was an '06 Dodge Charger Daytona (yellow & black) that put a cam and tune in, but I was not happy so I traded it once I drove the SRT.

Nice times!
I too plan to wait until the temps cool off and run during the day when the track is sticky. It's almost pointless to run your car here in the summer. Seems like the crazy Louisiana heat and humidity is finally creeping away though. Red River Raceway is only 200 ft above sea level, so with the right conditions, maybe I can join the 12 sec club too. Congrats on your times and good luck with the mods.

Did you have any pre-resonator removal times to compare with, I was wondering if there would be any gains to there removal other then the tone. Thanks.

No, I never got to the track until after I took it off. However I think it just improved the sound of the vehicle. With the filters and res. removed I think the car sounds much better, it now sounds like a true sports car.

Last week I installed a water/meth kit and I am going to the track again on the 12th to see if there is any improvement. I will post my times friday night.

Bikecop,

Did you get new times?

Or did you not get a chance to run it last weekend?

I drove all the way there and they were closed. So I am going to try next Sunday.
