Default 1st time at drag strip with SRT-6

I bought my 6 about 4 weeks ago with 2,600 miles on it and installed SL55 complete intake with K&N drop in filters a week ago. I took it out to the drag strip tonight with no track prep and ambient temp of 50*...here's the results on my 3rd pass ever (in the 6). Also the elevation here in Las Vegas is 2,100 ft above sealevel.

60' 2.058
1/8 8.343
MPH 86.23
1/4 12.848
MPH 109.09

Mod...SL55 factory intake with K&N drop ins and runs were made on factory Continental tires at 30 psi in rear.

Wow, is it me or does those times seem pretty much comparable to the other aftermarket intakes available? They seem to all run around the same times. I think a true shootout is in order.

Personally I think it's 10x better because the car still looks bone stock and the complete setup w/filter cost me $325.....................not $450+ that the aftermarket CAIs run.

Where did you order your intake from and was the K&N's included in that price?

I got the intake from the local Mercedes-Benz dealer and got it at their cost with no tax(I know people) which was $259.80 and then got the K&N filter set seperately for $65.95.

Was there a little bracket racing going on? I assume that was a Hemi Magnum. Beat him by around .8.

Very impressive indeed....even spotted him a head start.

Wow, I thought the SRT8 Magnum would be faster than that. Good race, way to represent the SRT6.

He did have his 150lb son in the car which would make the car .15 slower. Also; cars typically run about .5 slower here in vegas than any of these lucky sea level tracks. The best I ran in my SRT-8 was 13.5 @ 102 bone stock.

So you're saying the "adjusted" times for your car at sea level would be around 12.3's....without a pulley? WOW!

Just imagine what a 3.54:1 or a 3.73:1 POSI would do for these cars.

By your times I would say you were running exactly what everybody else is running at sea level with the same mod. You must have one freakishly fast 6, or altitude most not affect forced induction cars as much as you might think.

The only way to tell is if he drove down to cali and made a pass there. The thing with Vegas is the DA usually sit's around 5000 and its incredibly dry. Once he sources some 17 inch rims and slaps some DR's that time will get lower, and know him he will probably throw a new lsd and pulley on it as well..

I've seen it time and time again when cars come here from cali running 12.5's and can only manage 13.0's all night long...............and that's N/A, turbo and S/C cars. A friend of mine moved from New Jersey to vegas and he has a turbo grand prix that ran 11.9 there with full interior and he could only manage a 12.3 out here with stripped interior.

I do have some "secret" things in the works and I'll post up the timeslips and/or videos as the car progresses.

You must just have a freakishly fast SRT6 then. I hope when I finally take mine to the strip its putting down numbers like that too.
