13.3027 @ 107.25 - I can't get into the 13.2's!!

OK, I know I'm not the fastest stock SRT-6. I also know, I'm not making a whole lot of progress getting my times down to 13.0. I'm pretty sure it's all in my launch. I'm spinning out every time. I guess I need to be less aggressive with the throttle at first. But at least I'm getting better at the tree. I had 0.0765 R/T and 0.0895 R/T tonight. Which is much better than the 1.0-something I was getting 3 weeks ago. So I guess progress is progress!

Anyway, aside from chronicling my racing learning curve, I do actuall have a question:

Looking at my time slips from tonight (below) can anyone speculate on why my ET wasn't much better, but in some cases I gained 2 mph in trap speed?

TIA.

OK! The above runs happen to include my absolute best AND worst runs ever. Strange...

Johnson Pump? Anyone?

I think mine is the same way. It's considerably slower than it used to be, so I'm adding one as soon as I get back from duty. :)

I dunno about the intercooler pump. But I am very suspect of the nut behind the wheel!

Seriously, I bet I could shave the time off if I had ET Streets and a good launch technique. My 60' times stink because I'm spinning my wheels instead of going down the track.

You mentioned duty... are you talking deployment? As in Army/Navy/Marines/Air Force?

What tires are you running with, the stock PS2's? I have yet to try mine out at the track. I'm saving it for the Orlando gtg in July. I've read that people are launching around 1800 rpms. As for launching at the trees, as soon as the last amber lights, take off!

If it's a traction issue, your pump is probably fine. :) I don't know if I've gotten used to mine or what, but it just doesn't seem as fast as it used to be.

I'm in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, TDY to Sheppard AFB, in Wichita Falls, TX.

I was running 13.40 @ 105 did my grille mod https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=24738 and went 13.25 @108 on the first run after the mod, it works and it is free.

Sounds like your pump may be going. Search for a thread by Steve Hellums. He details how to wire an indicator light (LED) to the intercooler pump circuit, so you can tell when it is on and when it isn't. That might help. He also made another circuit so he can turn his on and off at will.

Sweet! I'm glad you're not headed over to the sandbox. I'd say HUAH! but I don't know what the AF guys say. :)

I saw your grill mod, and I need to take a closer look at it. It looks promising. Did you only cut out the drivers side part, or did you do the same to all of the "louvers" of the grille?

none were cut out, you cut a line on each side of the 2 opening from to the top ,,only the outside left and right then heat the plastic so you can strighten it ( you remove nothing just strighten it),,yes both left and right 2 fron the top hole in geille if you look where the air goes through the grille to the intake holes the angle the air would go to get to the intake maybe i could explain it better on the phone if you don't understand what i though i said jim 954 336 3405
