My 1/2 mile results - Clayton, GA - WannaGoFast 2013
Steve, John, and I (as well as our significant others) were at the Clayton event on Saturday (9/14/13).
My last year's runs were all around 135mph.
This year I arrived with the intent of running a 75 shot, so I was tuned accordingly (less timing, smaller plug gap, so significantly less power than usual unless spraying nitrous).
As I arrived at the airport I turned on my bottle heater and the switch blew. As a result, I would have no bottle heater for the event. For those that understand how it works, a cold nitrous bottle is useless.
My first run was without nitrous and I ran 129.28 mph. The DA was at or over 4k feet when we started, and around a mile on my last run. Regardless, I had fun almost beating godzilla.
My second run I went ahead and ran the nitrous, since the bottle was slightly heated from the sun. The pressure was around 200psi below optimal. This run was against John, and I ran a 141.96 mph. Poor John was at the mercy of the DA and mechanical gremlins. I don't think the tune was doing him any favors either.
My third run was against the same GTR. He wanted to go from a roll, and I raised a fit. When I stood my ground, the guy thought I was crazy, and said "are you sure you want to go from a dig"? Long story short, I smoked him on the lauch again, but those turbos bailed him out at the end. Damn it!
I did 143.59 mph on this run.

The GTR race was against the owner the first time (great guy) and the tuner the second time (great guy also). The tuner was certainly shocked to hear a RWD guy wanted to race an AWD GTR from a dig, that's for sure. He might have thought he was doing me a favor by suggesting a roll race, but that's not my strong suit.

You're welcome.
It will be added to the list.
Good luck. I'm sure you'll enjoy the extra HP.

Nice thread Anthony! I am a *bit* relieved to hear that the D-A was so stinkin' high...
You definitely put a hurt on that GT-R, and the video of you racing me is an excellent illustration of what a "nitroused" SRT would look like against a basically stock one (since I was only making 15-16psi...)
I was very happy for Anthony though, definitely gave the SRT-6 some new respect from the crowd. Both of us got a thousand looks and lots of conversation about the cars.
In a nutshell, I was suffering from low boost (gaskets?) and a coil pack that kept farting out on me all weekend. I could literally FEEL the random misfire once I got into 4th gear on that last run. After that, I called it a day.
The nitrous is definitely tempting for me as well... but I'm more focused on finding my missing 6psi and keeping the 6th cylinder active... LOL
I'm trying my best to stay positive. Just part of modding, I suppose...

Thanks. I'm sure he was very surprised and relieved to win, as a defeat would have been embarrassing for him. Hopefully I'll beat one next year.
