Crossfire Vs Honda s2000
I have a friend that wants to race his s2000 against my Crossfire. My car is Chipped with a flow master exhaust along with K&N filters. What do you think, do I have a chance?
Yes, you have a very good chance, as long as he doesn't rev it up before you go. From a rolling start you should definitely beat him. Do some research on the S2000 and you will realize that it suffers the same lack of low end power that the RX-8 does. So, go race him and let us know how you do!
yeah i heard that too, but torque was slightly increased. i think the motor grew a little but im not sure. but with the things you have done to the car i would think you stand a pretty good chance from a stop, but i dunno how s2k's do top end so i wouldnt know about a race from a roll. most of the stock s2k's i have seen at the track run 14.5 at best.

you definitely have a chance. i think it is all up to the driver of the s2000 thogh. ive seen an s2000 run a best of a 14.8 along with a 15.2 in the 1/4 mile, here in orlando. supposedly, s2000s can run low 14s. from magazine times, the crossfire runs a 14.7 at best. with the mods you have, it should be an interesting race. my dad said he beat an s2000 a few months back in his crossfire. anyways, good luck.
As a current owner of a crossfire and a previous owner of an S2000 its a close call. You will have him from the initial start but when he hits his VTec WATCH out. Thos S2000s though they have low end torque they can rev forever picking up incredible speed quickly so it would be a close call let us know. The S2000 sort of dogs out from 110 onward (real slow speed increments) and thats where the XFire might have his lead.
Better try to race him on a road course, looks like the s2000 puts in better 1/4 mile times. go to http://www.dragtimes.com and compare
