Lined up with a SLK / got lucky

Last night was another drag rental here in my tropical paradise. Arrived to the track around 7:00 PM, swapped out the street tires for drag radials and went to visit with the regulars and what do I see on the other side of the track? A white 32 SLK AMG. I talked to the owner for a while. 65 mm pulley, nitrous and tuned locally. (185 ordered) He claimed 380 hp and 500 with nitrous. Well, when my car was more or less cool I pulled around to make a pass and who's sitting in the other box, Yep SLK guy. Here we go, sweating it big time, brief burnout, to the line, lights .. GO GO GO GO! We leave together and I jumped ahead. Going down the track he's gaining little by little and it's going to be a foto finish. Then he lets off after 1000'. Whew! Got the slip 12.1 @ 116.xx, parked the car and took a walk to where he sat. He forgot to open the bottle. He hit the rpm to activate and the timing pulled, fuel increased and no NOS. His car has balls. Later that night he got it all working and ran 11.6 @ 121.xx. I think it's got a lot more in it once he figures it out. Regardless, he's talking cams and a other goodies.
I'm calling Eurocharged for a retune! (they know Jerry)
My best on a hot night was 12.022 @ 116.12.

Did he say how much he was spraying?

No idea. I got the impression he's a nitrous virgin. He mentioned something about additional fueling with the nitrous but I didn't understand exactly what he was talking about. I didn't ask what octane was used for the tune either. But he's fast for what he's got IMO. Stock manifolds, stock air boxes etc. Sherlock has be contracted to find out the particulars.

Who told you? Eurocharged? I did a little google search and came up empty and I know the name of the owner and his business.

I recently sold an E55 performance pulley to somone on ebay. The buyer paid today, and I noticed he was from PR. I then just asked him if he knew anything about the car and his response was yes. The outcome of the exchange was the info I provided.

It's a small, small world. Puerto Rico is a mod happy part of the USA believe it or not.
