should be interesting. 7500 ft runway doing half mile runs. thats almost 1 mile shutdown. the problem i see is the is no access from either end. the taxiway are in the middle . so you have to enter from the middle then go to one end turn around and race. then back up the runway to exit. according to wannagofast they aren't going to use the entire width but use 1 section for return( adding the gray area) not sure what they have in mind to speed things up. it was extremely congested at clayton this yr.

buckhead imports will be there in ocala but its doubtful my engine build will be done in time

 

It would be fun to do this run, get away for winter a bit, but planning a winter trip on summer tire compound might be interesting..... Too bad the company isn't sending there for a convention this year at that time....lol I would pack into my semi trailer....

 

All cars will be staged six wide towards the beginning of the runway. Cars will do a u-turn after their pass and then turn around and come back in a coned lane on the outskirts of the runway. The runway is almost 400ft wide where the coned lane begins so as soon as the first set of cars is cleared the next set will go.

400ft wide equals 8 Georgia runways in width.....so we basically have a return lane built into the width of the runway. So it will be minimal wait time. This airport runway is gigantic and will actually be less congested then Clayton. Even at its narrowest point it's 210ft which is equal to over 4 Georgia runways in width.

Also, there are 2 gates at the beginning of the runway so you will not be interrupting races to leave and/or exit.

 

i would suggest a staging area before the 6 lane staging. the biggest problem at clayton was getting to the line and then the guy in front or back says, oh I'm waiting to race so and so... you go ahead. my first pass 6 other cars wouldn't race due to this. made a solo pass which is just a waste

 

I saw a lot of that when someone was scared to run someone specifically. I saw a lot of 'go ahead' whenver the alpha GTRs were up to run, coincidently LOL
