Default Anniversary Thoughts:

April will be my first anniversery since joining the CrossfireForum.org.
It is also 1 year since becoming affiliated with the Central Texas Crossfires. Eileen and I have had some great times both cruising and socializing and making new friends. Some GTGs were better attended than others, however all were delightful and left lasting impressions. I will not single out individuals, but all contributed in their own way, if only by showing up. Others were the workhorses, motivators, and organizers of the events and you know who you are.
Lately, for whatever reason, it seems that there has been increasing disinterest on the part of some, while fortuneately new members and the old stalwarts have picked up the slack. The following quote is from a post I made last May after a GTG hosted by DERF (Fred and Molly) when only 4 members showed up. It was poor planning to begin with, scheduled for Mother'sDay, but also could have been handled much better by the non-attendees and not leaving the host with a plethera of left overs. If you know DERF (Fred) they didn't go to waste,
but I felt bad for him after all his work and planning. Having said that, here is my post: " Re: Central Texas & all Texas Crossfires - 05-14-2008 , 07:28 PM

Derf/Fred & Mollie

A great big vote of appreciation to the Derfs ( ) Fred and Mollie. Fred, you be da King of Burgers. Most enjoyable cruise, no traffic and lots of scenery. Hunt folks put on a pretty nice doo and a good band with plenty of amps. Square table discussion was neat and I got to tell the last lie about Basic/Boot Training, although Fred, you outdid me. Eileen had a great time, and I'm glad other wives were there also. Looking forward to June.

My intention in posting this is NOT to try to change anything in he CTC agenda, only to try to enhance it for the May tentative 2nd Sunday schedule. 10 May 2009 is once again Mother's Day and a poor choice for a GTG. May 9, is a Saturday and a Charity Run for Children, no discrimination against Fords or Chevvys, at the Texas Motor Speedway in Ft Worth. All ya'alls are invited by the DFW Crossfires, and hopefully with enough cars we can have a group run. Rules and regs are posted by Infernoredxfire in this forum. How about it Stogey, Ron and Barb, *****, Jared Mrs 007-MI6, Nathan, and any others

Default Re: Anniversery Thoughts:

I guess we'll have to reschedeule the May GTG to Sunday May 17 due to Mothers day unless the Club wants to make the trip to the Dallas area on May 9?
