Murphy's Steaks AND 3 Sisters?

Suppose we (tentatively) plan:

July 6: Murphy's Steakhouse and

July 20: Visit some of the 3 Sisters?

(July 13 at the Rim?) :D

I've never driven the 3 sisters. How long does each one take?

I think I did the whole thing in an hour. It's possible 1 or 2 speed limits were broken.
There's other even cooler roads in the area.

July 6 is Houston Coffee and Cars but if a bunch of people are going to Murphy's, I'll be there (presuming I still have the Crossfire).

Re: Murphy's Steaks AND 3 Sisters?

We'll do Murphy's at 4 or 5, so it should not conflict with the Houston 'Coffee and Cars'

What are some of the roads in the area that you liked better than 3 sisters, Beep? And I can not believe you drove the entire route in an hour! Looks like several days to me!

Lets have Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin folks plan on a steak at Murphy's. And post here, so I can have a tentative count for the management of the Steakhouse!

I should be there for the steak at Murphy's. Carmen may or may not be able to attend, but I will.

Re: Murphy's Steaks AND 3 Sisters?

We have Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas: Let's have a great steak on July 6! I'll call Monday and then again closer to the date to confirm any new Crossfires. And, Beep, come in any car. You are always welcome.

What and where are the rim and three sisters. I know about a steak.

Re: Murphy's Steaks AND 3 Sisters?

3 Sisters refer to several of the twisty roads around Leakey. Google it and you'll get a map. Maybe we could all meet in Leakey that day and venture out from there.

The Rim is a shopping Center off I-10 and 1604 (San Antonio). I have never been, but I understand there is a Lowes there that allows Car Nuts to park and tell stories in their parking lot. Our old location was shut down due to fast driving and too many 'burn-outs'!

Sandy, you might try to keep all this on one thread so there will be no confusion. Another issue would be trying to do 3 trips in one month. In the past it has been tough to get sufficient participation for one GTG in a month. I wish I was going to be available so I could support your efforts by having just one more Crossfire show up.

Re: Murphy's Steaks AND 3 Sisters?

Bill - I thought about being conservative, but as you know, I am a teacher. So, summertime is it for me. I don't get to go to the other activities, very often.

I appreciate your efforts to attend, but I will probably do these 3 weekends regardless of participation. I am declaring July to be Crossfire Month! :D

And thanks for the information on the 3 Twisted Sisters! I did not know.

Anyone else for Murphy's on the 6th?

Re: Murphy's Steaks AND 3 Sisters?

Put me on the list as tentative, party of two. Of course, I may bring rain, so y'all may not want me to attend. :p

Wife has me scheduled for college tours in Dallas for the son for that weekend - I am working on getting that rescheduled.

Actually, G (if I may call you that for short), I already had you on the tentative list. I do not believe you control the weather, so don't worry about bringing rain.;)

Re: Murphy's Steaks AND 3 Sisters?

I don't know where to meet up. I have no idea how many folks are showing up. Coming from different directions, people may want different routes.

Tomorrow, I'll drive up to San Marcos and see if there is a good meeting place at exit 205. I was thinking of an early dinner so we can drive together somewhere after dinner. I'll post tomorrow.
