If you must just buy the single, they say the dual is overkill.

dual looks better...

Re: intake

A single is all you really need. A dual looks killer. My car is a SRT-6 and I'm not sorry I exchanged my single for a dual but if the truth be told, the single was all I needed. So it's up to you. Just be aware of why your buying.

Re: intake

Hi Les, did you do a before and after dyno when you went from single to Dcai on your SRT6? When I studied this issue on the site, I found two posts from Woody that on a dyno run there was a 25whp gain @ 2000 rpm for the DCAI vs the CAI. This low end hp/tq increase is what I'm looking for. Did that happen for you when you went up to the dual?
Thanks!

I put on the dual this summer and then updated by Eurocharge Tune. Love it. The dual may be "overkill" but it looks soooooo much better than the single. It sucks massive amounts of air. Heck, mine sounds like it has a turbo on it now. Love the set up. A lot harder to install than noted in the instructions. My biggest issue was removing the old power steering coolant lines in the engine compartment. Hard to grab, hold and remove. Anyway, I did it myself and despite that issue, and the fact a couple of the other proceedures were harder than expected, I'm really glad I did it. Here's a pic.

I don't remember getting much at peak. Where it made some difference was low and midrange.

Great! That's where I'd want it for a Fast flat torque curve.

Re: intake

You can build your own. I don't know of any companies that offer onespecifically deigned for our cars, at least none that are set up like this or as nice as these. Our cars already have stock cold air intakes from the factory, but the air boxes and smaller tubes just don't allow for the amount of airflow you can get through a set up like the needswings one. Some on here have built their own so you could search around. Personally, while I've seen a few I might like or think look good, I was sold on the needswings for design, testing and benefits. Yes it is expensive but .......I waited 4 years to buy it.

Re: intake

If you're modding a N/A and want a cheap good look, do the C240/C320 M/B intake. Increases air intake by 50% and looks sweet. Can be had used for under $100.

Or if it's a SRT, just do the DIY SCAI for under $200..

Either way provides more than enough air while saving you enough to pay for the tune!

Da55ID - If you decide to upgrade to the NeedsWings dual CAI I would be interested in purchasing your single. Send me a PM if that interests you.

the Mercedes intake is an upgrade but still looks more stock. Cool but nowhere near the air or looks of the needswings. If you are just looking for air, a single is OK but it just didn't cut it for my taste. As far as a tune, get it on sale. $ 300 on sale. Needswings gave me a discount on the intake too because I bought the new cover from them as well. Good luck with the choice.

Re: intake

I concur on the tune - i got in on the Eurocharged sale this summer and even without any other mods there is a performance increase that you can feel. Just make sure you do a throttle reset after the tune. you can search for throttle reset here on the forum for the how to.

Re: intake

New to site. Thinking about adding the needwings intake. Noticed that nobody has put the engine cover back on after they put on the dual system. Will the cover still fit?

Re: intake

The engine cover is more than just a cover, it is a filter housing. It is either system, not both.

Part filter system, part engine cover.... and no, with the dual, no engine cover.....

Sure it will, after some extreme modifications!

Re: intake

So what would you recommend as a cover if I put the dual system on? Duals look awesome, but the single would allow the cover? Thanks

If you have the N/A, how about this...

For the dual:

For the single:
