shifter knob removal

Finally got it off by pulling on both side of the boot.

I made video but never posted it. *edit* unscrew the collar at the bottom of the **** and then you have to pull it off upward.

The answers for both the auto and manual transmissions are in this thread. So it depends on what tranny you have.

you have to unscrew the collar circled in this pic for the manual then pull it off upward. Sorry I forgot that part.
