Thank-you in advance

I'm assuming you're doing everything right......i.e. turning the handle before you pull it down to latch it and then turning it back to it's position?

Do you mean the tonneau cover, that locks the top down?

Could just be a latch adjustment?

I tried to search but found nothing, Sorry

Sounds like something might be out of adjustment.

I'd probably start by having the top halfway up (or down if you prefer, just so long as the tonneau cover is in it's vertical position) and checking all the hardware for anything loose.

EDIT: I just went out and looked at mine........ I have no noticable wear on any parts of the latching mechanism, I'd probably start with that. If you see any place where there's a wear pattern start checking there for something out of adjustment or possibly loose.

yeah the tonneau cover that locks the top down , <smile>
I will have to try to stop it halfway like you both sugested,
and see if anything is loose or maybe needs lubricating.
thanks I will try it in the morning and see how it goes at least
I will have all day to try to get it to close again, <smile>
thank-you
Bill

It's easy to stop it wherever you want.......just let off the button.

I do this quite often to clean the inside of the back window.

There is a post with a video attached which shows how to lubricate with Lithium grease. You may want to search for that. You also may want to take a look at the cable while the top is closing. Maybe something is getting hung up or your cable is adjusted too short.
Good Luck!

Thumbs up Re: 2005 LMTD convertable top please help!

Thank-you Everyone for your advice. I am going to go to day and get some lithium grease
and try to see if that works everything seems to be tight
but the roller locking mechanism seems to be tight may just need
lubricating, It does lock if you apply a little pressure on the
top holding the close convertable switch.
Wish me luck,
Great fourm may seriously consider becoming a Crossfire member
Thanks Again
Bill
