Are the (ECU & Key Transponder) the only thing SKREEM cares about syncing with?
Are the (ECU & Key Transponder) the only thing SKREEM cares about syncing with?
Saw this conversation below on YouTube and wanted a second opinion.
ORIGINAL QUESTION:
Is it possible to create a backup combo(ECU/Skreem) by sending in a scrapped cars ECU, SKREEM, along with my currently working key?
.
Asked another way, is it possible to have one set of keys synced to two sets of ECU & SKREEM ...one set of which coming from a scrapped car?(the currently running ECU & SKREEM and the backup ECU & SKREEM )
RESPONSE:
Yes, must make sure that the part number on both ECU and SKREEM are the same. Do not forget about the key. We can make you a kit, contact sales@ecuteam.com for more info

"Is it possible to create a backup combo(ECU/Skreem) by sending in a scrapped cars ECU, SKREEM, along with my currently working key?"
answer More info is needed other than your key.
"Asked another way, is it possible to have one set of keys synced to two sets of ECU & SKREEM ...one set of which coming from a scrapped car?(the currently running ECU & SKREEM and the backup ECU & SKREEM )"
answer ; Only if the second set is re-programed.
If you are thinking about doing this it would be best to talk with Rob at Needswings or Josh at the Mercedes swap shop! You may be able to purchase just another Skreem and get it programed for your car. They can also provide additional keys.

Yea, don't ask us know-it-alls. Go to Rob or Josh, those are guys who actually do the work and understand all the implications.
YOu want to talk to someone who KNOWS and has DONE IT. They can tell you exactly what can be done, what you need to do it, and what it will cost.
Messing with the SKREEM and ECU is in a league of it's own. I've got 35 years in electronics and automotive-related electronics and this stuff is WAY over my head and I admit it.

Re: Are the (ECU & Key Transponder) the only thing SKREEM cares about syncing with?
You can have a back up set programmed.
the skreem does more then just talk to the ecu about starting the car.
and the answer to zip quote
set of keys synced to two sets of ECU & SKREEM ...one set of which coming from a scrapped car?(the currently running ECU & SKREEM and the backup ECU & SKREEM )"
You can but the issue is, if you hit the unlock or lock on the fob or try to start it. The rolling code changes it become desync. *you have to have it reprogrammed*
your better off having skreem repaired properly or our key delete done (same as people skreem delete but the right way)
