Pulling the spoiler fuse? Hmmm....

Any ideas on how the loss of the drag a deployed spoiler causes at 60 mph on a 2-lane road & 70 mph on the freeway would help mileage?

A 1.25 mpg improvement would save me $20 per month at the current CA prices for good gas. That would pay for my oil changes.

i really think that spoiler being there is worth more than 20 bucks a month , i hate to say it , i really do, but reducing the weight of your wheels might be a better choice , i am now considering it

$1,200 for ultralite wheels.. divided by $20 a month gas savings...hmm..6 goes into four...carry the 3..

Best be for the looks..

Thanks for the link.
I am starting to think this forum is like the Simpsons, everything has been done already.

I think MrMiata was referring to the ones he has that are made of unobtianium - they weigh just 12 ounces each and are stronger than carbon fiber reinforced titanium.
They also have NO radar reflective properties and are invisible to the eye unless in ultraviolet light..

You should have got a used Prius and that would have saved you a months worth of the stuff you have been smoking.
That's a joke unless it fits.

At 6 lbs each.. they'll pay for themselves in gas savings before you even realize it..

at 12k i will wait for mt srt6....or Lamborghini , with time im sure the price will come down and when they are reasonable i will own a set, they would look great ,color wise on my car 6 pounds would be a hell of an upgrade, only 12pounds of rim weight on the hubs!

thanks.i have a 2005 crossfire where the spoiler goes up when reaching 90 kph, but does not comes down and the red light keeps blinking at the switch. even if i press the switch.
only when i stop the engine and then close the circuit again and i press the switch nonstop, the spoiler closes fully
i heard somewhere that removing the fuse it will not go up so that is why i need to know where and what fuse # to pull out.
at least while i try to learn what is going on and what i can do, if anything can be done.
thanks

~ ditto... i always liked the cleaner look in the down position.
