Search on-line or your local Mercedes Benz dealer for part #912002008003. They run roughly $2.50 from on-line stores like ECStuning.com or eeuroparts.com. It's an insane $6.04 from Amazon.

thanks a zillion sir.
wonderful thing is this forum!
the car came without it, and didnt get loose until recently. no idea why the previous owner-or a mechanic-managed to loose it.
but now it will be fixed, thanks to you.

with the p/n you provided, i searched for mb locally and found the dealer that sells mb cars, parts, and service, and learned that even if dont service the xf, sell the parts and is customers friendly so was able to buy it locally. and for fair price too. thanks for your help.

Up here in Canada we have to buy a lot of parts from the US and shipping gets expensive as you say.
Sometimes these parts are to be found here if we search hard enough but convenience is a issue and paying more is often worth it in the end.
Many US suppliers like to ship expensively, UPS, FEDX etc but I try to get them to ship via USPS and find this is the best and most cost effective method.
