Default Loud, rapid clicking.

My '06 roadster, 30k miles, strong battery, makes a loud clicking noise when I turn on the ignition and doesn't turn over. I haven't started it for six weeks due to health issues and is the longest time it has sat up. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

You say strong battery but if left for six weeks without a charge or running the engine the battery could get weak enough to not be able to start the car. There is a constant drain on the engine, power is used to keep all systems up and running where required. There could be a poor connection to the starter as well.
I hope this is not the OEM battery, it will not be reliable by now.

The battery is 17 months old. When it happened yesterday I put my charger on it until noon today (24hrs) and from all indications the battery is fully charged. I will check the starter connection. Thanks.

Fault seems to have been with my trusty but old charger. Neighbor came over with his and we did a quick charge and she started up just fine. Thanks 180.
