Default HELP!!! Ticking noise in engine bay

Hi,

There is a ticking noise in the engine bay, accompanied by the same noise dot matix printers used to make. My car has no problems whatsoever and drives/starts perfectly. I noticed the noise after I had left the key in the ignition and opened the bonnet to replace my hood strut, while I was replacing the hood strut I then heard the ticking/printer noise. My key was in the ignition on the ON position but not idling and the Aircon was off. The engine was cold as I had only revered and drove forward about 10 meters to park the car. It is a 2006 Automatic model, 85000 miles, Coupe. The car doesn't tick when idling or driving.

I have owned an Audi, VW and Vauxhall and have heard similar sounds in the VW and Audi under the same circumstances but this is extra extra extra compared to the other cars I've owned.

I've posted a video on Youtube, the sound gets more audible around 11 seconds.

Please let me know if you noticed this on your Crossfire's as well before.

I once knew what it was - but the point is, it is normal.

While we are talking about it - leaving the key in the "on" position is not a good practice for a whole list of reasons, the least of which is the nearly 45 amps of current the various systems are consuming - your battery will go down very fast if you leave the key ON for very long.

Damn, wish I could remember what it is.... I can't remember if it is the ABS or Traction control solenoid(s), or something or the servo in the throttle body.
