Raise the hood.
Remove the caps at the bottom of the wipers (that hide the nut that holds them on, if they have not fallen off like all the rest).
Take the nuts off each wiper.
Grab each wiper and pull/twist/work them off their spindles.
Remove all the torx screws in the plastic cover under the wipers, and lift the cover off.
All the way on the passenger end, you will see the squirrel cage blower, it will be full of leaves/pine needles/etc.
Vacum out the blower cage and all the vents - vacum out the ENTIRE area under the cover.
Put things back together. You are done.
(This will also keep the drains from clogging and backing up, allowing water to fill the area and overflow into the squirrel cage area and flowing down under the carpet on the passenger side - which leads to water in your sound system amplifier, as well as other items.

Many thanks
Re: Air Con Growling
There are 2 phillips screws under the glove box holding the black plastic cover in place,
remove them and the cover.
You will then see a plastic slidey thing that will let you remove the fan cover, and another one that allows you to change the filter.

Doing both the inside and outside (sans a bad blower motor) insures all the debris that could be causing this, is removed and no longer an issue. If there is a large amount of debris on the outside section, be sure to continue and inspect (pizzaguys suggested for water leaking into amp area and wiring throughout) for any past water intrusion. If present and not address it could play all sorts of heck with whatever was wetted. Afterwards, gently spin the cagefan feeling/hearing if anything is rubbing/hitting the cage (before closing it all back up). If you feel/hear nothing, operate it with just the ignition in the on position (not started/running) so see if any noise is still there. Good luck!
