Need source for Auto Shutdown relay
Re: Need source for Auto Shutdown relay
I thought I was dumb when I did not know what it was, I guessed a relay at the battery, it shutting off all power. All the pollution codes would be lost.

Ford used a similar device in the 90's. It shut down the fuel pump in a collision. There was a reset button in the trunk area when it would occasionally trip on its own for no reason. I seem to remember resetting more of them in station wagons.

There is one in my 2001 Ford Ranger too, BEHIND the passenger side front kick panel.

Re: Need source for Auto Shutdown relay
OK Gang, I am shipping my RCM to have it fixed ! ala_Fire hit it on the Head ! Now I need to find someone to send my computer to have it flashed with the latest and greatest program for a completely stock Crossfire Base Coupe N/A 6 speed. Called and left messages 2 times on voice machine @ Eurocharged and also 2 e-mails on their website. Anybody have a number or contact number OR both ? I have seen here that they are the top runner so far. Also I do most of my time on the interstate @ about 70 mph. (Daily Driver) 2600 rpm I think, but on weekends I do drive up in mountains and around town. what kind of mods and in what order would you all recommend ? No drag racing just want more " maneuverability" ! Let me know because I plan on pulling it down tomorrow. I do have a Daughter in college so cheap (FYI) and proven mods are welcome. Thanks ! Tim

I know free flow and all that BUT I am not that familiar with the particulars of these cars. I am just an old school guy who has built street cars but I do not even pretend to know the proper mods to warm up a Crossfire. I have had this car for 2 years and it has been difficult leaving it alone even this long ! ! I do know to ask people who have " been there & done that " before going off half-cocked. Any and all input is welcome ! Tim

From my years of reading this forum, I have come to the conclusion that there is NO exhaust mod worth the time and expense when it comes to adding HP, most are for sound.
If you want to spend really big bucks, there are some exhaust headers available from Rob at NeedsWings, but I don't think you gain too much power.
The 3 things I listed above are about all you can do to an NA to gain some torque/power, there are TONS of stuff you can do with an SRT6.
I have had all 3 on my NA for about 4 years now, no problems or complaints.
DJ ( tighed1 ) is about to get his NA back from Corky at Bell engineering after 4 years with a turbo.
We are all waiting to see how that finally turns out.

One very important thing you should check in to is the "sticky key fix"
It may have already been done, if it has then the person 'should' have left a note to that effect inside the driver side fuse panel door.
( also, the RCM re-solder is well worthwhile, as well as a CPS replacement with a Bosch CPS )
