Battery light flash on/off upon acceleration
Battery light flash on/off upon acceleration
2005 SRT6. Idiot light on dash flashes on and off upon acceleration. Have new battery/new alternator. In some threads there is a suggestion that the serpentine belt is slipping because light only comes on when accelerating. The light is indeed an indication of non-charging as lights flicker. Backoff peddle and it stops. And of course the faster you go the more frequent it flickers. Any ideas besides belt slipping. Would belt dressing help? I guess for a period it might tell me if that is the problems or am I just stupid? Please advise as to my stupidity

Re: Battery light flash on/off upon acceleration
Gotta be a slippung belt.
Now, I can’t remember the vehicle, but well over 20 years ago I worked on one the the light would come On above about 1500 engine rpm. It was the alternator. I have little clue why, but it would not charge above that speed.
If i read right, you have changed the alternator. Well, I changed the one on my SE in June of 2015. In August, it failed. NAPA replaces it free. Rebuilt alternators fail.
