Default Help me with oil leak

So I brought home a 06 roadster with 71000 miles just 3 days ago. Previous owner just had oil changed at Chrysler dealer about 2 weeks before I bought it. I've had it sitting in my garage for 3 days waiting. Today I go to move it outside to start getting it cleaned up and I noticed this oil puddle on the floor of my garage. Maybe the car leaked before....I didn't ask previous owner. Wouldn't a dealer notice this? Maybe they did and owner refused to pay to have it looked at...I don't know. Or is it a result of the oil change. Doesn't matter at this point but I have to get it fixed. I tooksome photos of where I could see drips of oil.Can anyone identify what might be going on here?

Looks like the common trans connector leak. Check here https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-pictures.html

So if it's transmission fluid leaking and I have no idea how long it's been leaking then I have no way to tell how much fluid I have in the transmission and therefore do not know if it's ok to drive the car. Not what I wanted to hear. Looks like my first official cruise with this car is going to be to a shop. Video shows the repair very well and I feel like I could do it but I have no way to get the car high enough to work under it to do this so it looks like I need to take it to a shop.

Do a trans fluid and filter service at the same time -then you are good for 60,000 miles.

Thanks guys, I will get it checked out. I knew when I bought this that I would have some unexpected issues come up so although I'm disappointed I'm not surprised. Hope I can get it in a shop soon though.

Take it to a dealer and you will REALLY be sorry. Most any transmission shop should (SHOULD) be able to take care of this (even most local honest garages).

James, I looked at the car then you would have known how this could have gone unnoticed. Anyway, thank you for your help.

....and I realize that you are just grumpy.
Amazing that new members expecting help can be so cantankerous, try and help and you just get insulted.

Ok, perhaps we got off on the wrong foot here. I do appreciate the advice as I stated earlier. I bought this car knowing that there were some things that were going to need to be addressed. These things were not a deal breaker for me though. It was my hope that I could become a welcomed member here and access the wealth of information about these cars available here.
When looking at this car before buying it I did notice oil all over the engine compartment. I assumed this would be the valve cover gaskets. However I did not notice it leaking this amount of fluid. That is my concern. Doesn’t matter at this point as it’s something that I will tend to sooner rather than later.

i hope I can continue to become a welcomed member here and share my experiences with these cars for future members as well.

You ARE a welcome member !
That oil thing could be from an improperly done oil filter change where the big O ring was not properly installed, or it could be the vent covers leaking - although those usually don't leak a bunch of oil.

I take it that the we is actually you?
That oil looks too dirty to be tranny oil, and when there is a lot of oil leaking from an engine it gets forced backward onto the tranny.
If it is tranny oil you are in trouble, but I doubt it is.

Grumpy, check that oil filter 'O' ring first. When they are misrouted, they leave wuite a mess under the hood. It should be located one ring AWAY from the top of the filter housing, not the top ring. Good luck!

I have confirmed that it is indeed ATF. I have downloaded the service bulletin and watched the videos. I feel confident that this can be resolved. I'm going to go ahead and change the transmission filter and fluid while I'm at it. Thank you all for your advise.

Common issue, see THIS is why all Crossfires should be six speed manuals.

WHEN will you people get it?

You moved down scale when you purchased the SE, when in fact you know you should have moved upscale by buying an SRT. You were tempted and one day you will be driving an automatic Crossfire.
Anyway, I had a tranny that looked like that photo at the start of this thread when a rear oil seal failed, it was not pretty.

My first Red Roadster was an auto - and agreed Dave, if I own another automatic, it will be an SRT.
