Need direction 2005 shut down
Need direction 2005 shut down
After driving about 25 minutes, at the stop light, the car just shut down. All icons lite up on dash. After panic and three tries, it turned over and I drove away. Went to AutoZone. Guy checked and said battery fully charged and fine, alternator fine. Stuck a gadget in driving column and test showed nothing wrong. I asked what could have been problem..he had no answer. I’m afraid of getting stuck somewhere, but more afraid of dealership. Please guide me. What should I do next. Made it home, no issues. 2005, 52,400 miles

Sounds like an RCM solder joint problem.
Here's the link to the Sticky RCM repair page.

Choch votes for RCM solder failure. And that IS a possible culprit.
BUt I vote for Crank Sensor. Mine failed just like yours, at a stoplight. Had to try three time, it started.
I read the OBD, had a code for crank sensor. Changed it and drover the car almost another year with no more trouble.
See, the thing is, the crank sensor usually throws a code and turns on the Check Engine light.
BUT, it does not ALWAYS throw a code.
DO NOT buy one at Autozone, etc. Go to Needswing.com, GermanAutoSupply.com, etc.
I'd also have the solder on the RCM re-flowed.

Pizzaguy beat me to it. I was gonna edit my post after putting the barking dogs out to pee (better than waiting to see if I didn't).
Anyway, Amen to the Crankshaft Position Sensor as another cause. Here's the link on it:

Here's a link to Big Daddy's YouTube video on the CPS (Although it says SRT6, it's the same for NA Crossfires):
And, if not the above, it might be the Camshaft Position Sensor:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...tionsensor.pdf
Those ought to cover it.
remember, ALWAYS BUY BOSCH!!
Let us know how it turns out...
Cheers,
BTW if you haven't done the Sticky Key Fix yet, here's the link (it's a matter of when, not if your 2005 will get a sticky key):
