Chrystal,
Saw your post on Facebook and saw Josh's initial request for funds also. Believe this is a worthwhile "seed" money approach to this whole ignition/security issue. From what I've read on this forum, Josh has much experience with these cars' electronics AND he appears to be in it for the long haul.for the benefit of all owners...at a reasonable cost to all. Kudoos to Josh and others here for "diving" in on the issues.
I'm in & contributed!

( which seems to be happening now with increasing frequency ) will not prevent you from driving the car.
Currently, if this happens to you, you will be looking at a minimum of around $800 to get it going again.
Josh has in the past installed V8's into Crossfires, and even figured out how to get a V8 running with a manual transmission,
so you could say he is qualified for this task.
The monies are for supplies and a programmer box with software to do the research, and a bit for him and his family.

Re: Please Help the Mercedes Swap Shop to Help Us
Happened to venture on this thread from a Google search. Thank you to anyone who donated because this man deserves any credit he can get and definitely doesn't disappoint in doing what he said! Just had a broken transponder so my car was stuck at work. Sent out my parts to Josh at the MSS and they saved the day! Love it. I made sure to tip when sending payment because well earned!
Thanks again,

Finally have time to to re- engage with the cars again. Glad to see all the interest in these cars. They would die without it. I have heard nothing but good things about this shop. But looks like I am late to the party. Did he receive enough donations to continue his work to rid of us this problem?

Re: Please Help the Mercedes Swap Shop to Help Us
@oledoc2u :
He absolutely did. Josh has come up with the fastest and most reliable fix for all these issues:
Failed SKREEM
"I need a second key"
"Lost all my keys"
And he offers a transmission tune that turns your "W/S" switch into a toggle switch to select one of four modes on the fly. I drove an SRT with that mod and a tune at a Dragon a year ago (his east coast rep/tech, James Lee Smith's car, thanks James!) - out of this world control over the wonky automatic in our cars (not that ANY auto isn't crap). It was the first time in my 47 years of driving that I could control and shift an auto like I could a manual, only faster.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, Doc

As of Dec 27, 2023 PayPal is the only payment option and it will not allow my donation to go through. It says the recipient account is restricted. Not sure what that means but I will be happy to add my name to the donation list when it is cleared up.
Re: Please Help the Mercedes Swap Shop to Help Us
As far as I know we only take any major debit/credit card
Re: Please Help the Mercedes Swap Shop to Help Us
Using the link in post #1 takes me to the fundrazr site and its payment button takes me to paypal. To be fair, paypal allows payment using a credit card but I could not even get that far. See the attached screenshot for the error message I get.
