2006 Crossfire convertible switch
2006 Crossfire convertible switch
My switch to control my up and down of my convertible top, one end "fell into the console". I pulled the console off as much as I could w/o affecting the wiring for the raising of the storage unit for the top. In looking at the "plastic bracket" that holds the switch to the console, the piece on one end to hold the switch in place must have broken off.
So, is there a way to fix it, (I cannot lift the console enough to see if the bracket can be removed, or if it is glued to the console). My guess is it is glued or a permanent part of the console. So, I am guessing I need to buy a new console. Thoughts???

Re: 2006 Crossfire convertible switch
Your going to have to remove the console to repair or replace.
Best to to get it off and assess the damage/ issue correctly
you can purchase that portion from EBay for only a few bucks.
This is one is $54 USD plus a few for shipping

when removing the console, you will have to remove the yellow hose that locks the console. That’s usually the hardest part
if you don’t have a service manual, download one from this site. 180 usually has the links in his signature

Re: 2006 Crossfire convertible switch
I found that if you pull the rubber grip away from the steel hand brake on al four sides and squirt WD40 between the gap using the straw in the can you can get the grip of easier. Be careful it does not come off in such a position that you punch your self in the face. OUCH!
Re: 2006 Crossfire convertible switch
No special tool required for the hose, it is a barbed fitting. Be careful that you do not break the nipple. Cut the yellow hose if it does not come off easily
