2005 Auto stock in Limp mode, won't shift

Hi All,

My 2005 Crossfire is stuck in limp mode where it won't shift further than the first gear, it is automatic.

Car got into this condition, after my wife left the top down and it rained, getting engine code P0705 which is PRNDL SLA shifter lever assembly.
Took the shifter appart and cleaned it, did not see any evidence of water.
the supply voltage to this assembly is present, the little LCD block in the dash is blacked out.

I think the shifter assmbly is gone bad, has it happened to any one?

I am not sure if I buy a used shifter lever assembly whether it will work, or whether it require dealer programming in order to mate it wiht the tranny ECU.

I did search and I did see similar behaviour, but it was not caused by rain/water.

Also , if any one has the service manual for this car and willing to share it, that would be great.

Look forward for your input.

Thank you,

Rafi

Check out the link below.
MMZ Timelord spent mucho time & effort to download a whole bunch-o service manuals to the Forum. I'd bet that the '04 Coupe service manual will be appropriate....not many changes between the '04's & '05's, if any.
Good luck!!

Thank you for the info, I am almost 100 percent certain that my shifter assembly is bad, so, I know I am looking for a replacement.

Cheers,

Rafi
