alternator replacement

just wondering if anyone knows of a source of inexpensive replacement alternators?

my atl. bearing is squeeking like mad, and I don't no if there is a rebuild kit.

You're right, nothing but polished junkyard junk.
Good luck finding your part.

just did mine too, i had the same bearing growl. bought it on www.chryslerpartsdirect.com for ~$300... not exactly *cheap*, but much better than the autozone trash ;)

Re: alternator replacement

I just had mine changed under warranty. They had the car for a week and said it was difficult to get the part. They had to provide a loaner so the wait was not bad.

I did ask the service writer how much the work would have been if not under warranty and he said $750 with parts and labor.
