Well, as more and more cars crash and more and more engines are parted out then more TBs are availaable. I had no idea there was such a limited supply of these either.

You could always send your stock TB in and have it rebored with a new butterfly. THe cost of that is about 175.00.

Will that put it at 74mm, is that what you were selling before?

Yes, the max you can bore a stock TB is 74mm. We were selling OEM 74mm Tbs not bored out stock units.

Will the performance gains be the same? If so, I will go that route.

I'd actually be interested to see if the V8 TB would pass smog with the stock air box on, the computer will adjust for changes and with the CAI off I would think it wouldn't gulp quite as much air. If there more or less physically the same it may just pass, bigger injectors and a tune would be pushing it. I recentlly got my 2004 and added a CAI and Catch Can I'll be adding the teflone coated Valve covers (Leaking already)and an upgrade on plugs and wires soon. The TB would be a nice upgrade and it's a bolt on application that seems rather quick to replace. Let's just hope the stock is there.

I think a line is forming. I think a few of us would like to see a dyno not that you need help selling these but just to to see the increase maybe a before and after with a CAI which will probably be what most of us will be running. If a dyno is available to you I know dyno time isn't free by any means. I'll show some patience for mine and wait a few months until you get a more in even though I'd like one today.

If you have a C.A.I. and add the 74mm throttle body, Do you need to have your computer tuned for that ? Or is it something you can add now to a stock n/a engine for power now then tune after for even more gain?

you can add the TB and a CAI with out a tune the ECU will compensate for the change.
you will get a good 8-10HP from these Mods with out a Tune (so ive been told ) But we are all waiting to see what TVT comes back with for Dyno results.

There is no tune needed for putting this on.

As for the dyno we will try to get to it, but it isn't a priority. We have many projects going on right now and it is very difficult to find a stock car for just a TB swap that is willing to pay for install and dyno time.

If someone wants to do it and post the results that would be great.

Just got mine put in! You need a male star shaped T40 for your TORQUE WRENCH . It took me a while to figure it out.

Btw have any of you found Star 5 point Torq's locally? Those are a pain in the rear to get for the map sensor on the intake I think a small torq's wrench should be added with these kits for installs with the CAI and the TB (just a suggestion) hunting them down is a choir to say the least. Craftsman doesnt even carry them only the 6 points.

Got the 74mm TVT TB and NeedsWings CAI installed last night. Didn't have much a chance to test it out until this mornings commute into the city. I must say that I was a lil disappointed at first but then I thought well I need to pull in and grab some go juice and did a throttle reset while settin filling the tank. WOW ! Midrange from about 3200 rpm on up to around 5000 is simply beasty as compared to before. Wondering now if the larger TVT injectors will help out the low end
