Default Removing OE Filters With NA Intake

I was just wondering if the seal around the stock square filters would remain functional when using twin intakes on the NA engine. It seems to me that the gasket around the stock filters is necessary to keep foreign matter from entering around the box. I have been told that it is alright to just remove the filters and tighten the bolts back with no stock filter when installing the conical short ram style intakes that I have purchased. Wondering if anybody else has done this with no negative side effects. Thanks.

Those covers fit tight so I don't see where you would need to remove the gaskets from the filters. I believe the gaskets are more to prevent seepage from around the filters than from the covers.

I appreciate the quick response. I just get worried when things seem to be too easy.
