New radio display for Euro Crossires

Good news for European Crossfires. I've just seen the article in Auto Express for the First Drive of the Euro Crossfire and noticed the radio had Black digits which means they have changed the display.

Wonder if DCX will allow US consumers to change theirs out?? If they become standard here, I will have mine "break" and take it in for 'replacement".

Looks like Euro models don't have the passenger air bag cutoff. The indicator for it is not on the console (or at least not at the same place).

Mark did you notice in the article that the UK crossfire gets 2 more horses

217BHP . I guess the car setup is slightly different as our emissions are not as strict?

Good news about the display as well, I didn't spot it.

Maybe the horses in Europe are smaller...

Yes, if this becomes available in the States, let's all find a convenient way to say that our "invisible-display" stereos are broken!

Will the Euro version of the Radio work in the US. I would like to get mine replaced. I asked my local Dealer and he didn't know.

called the dealer and requested he get me the new radio. He has been great and I think he feels we are being ignored.

What's that switch to the right of the headlight knob?

Are they the controls for lights that the US cars always don't get?

if numbered 0-4 it is to change the beam angle when your rear is loaded

Hello,

I am a American living in Scotland UK and have pre ordered a crossfire for April next year. I am counting the days. Trading in a BMW 330ci sport that has 231 bhp as standard. In answer to the BHP question. "why is there more bhp in the UK" has to do with emmissions. My BM has duel Vanos, (vari cams) it is my understanding the states come with a single.

When I finally get the car the first two things that will be done is to replace the air filter with K&N and book it in with Superchip for a custom ecu remapping. This should give me another 20bhp appox.

This forum is excellent. You folks are given loads of tips. The first thing I am going to do is call the deal and ask about the radio head unit crap.

Will let you know.
