Looking for good radar detect/laser jamming installer
Can anyone recommend a professional installer for radar and laser jamming equipment in the Stockton - Modesto, CA area?

Suggestion, drive at a resonable speed and quite being an menace to the Highways. Speed is for the track in a controlled envrionment, not for public roads where there are constantly changing conditions and drivers of different calibers. Use the money you would spend for a radar detector and spend it on a few track days with your local road racing association. It will be a lot safer and trust me you will have a lot more fun.
Have you ever received a ticket for just 10 mph over the speed limit? I'm not talking about going crazy, just have a desire to protect myself for those times when you get a good tune on the radio and somehow the speed creeps up over the ticket writing line.

Why would anyone buy a car like this and say something as patronizing like being a menace to the highways? There are times when an open road is hard to resist. I've got the battery-powered Passport that attaches to the windshield with suction cups. Saved me at least the cost of the unit so far...

The Valentine pretty much gets the best ratings in every test out there. There are a few where it is rated second I believe, to the Passport 8500. I don't have the Valentine 1 yet, but I know people who do, and the fact that it shows you the location and number of separate radar readings is pretty indispensable. Say you are going by a shopping mall near your house, and you know it always sets off your radar detector. Well the Valentine 1 would show you the direction and number of signals it is getting. If you always are getting 1 signal by the mall, and one day it shows 2, you know there is probably a cop around. I have however been thinking recently of getting the Passport 8500 and the ZR3 laser shifter because the state cops in NJ are in the process of switching to radar, and that is probably the best protection you can get, but that goes for $800.
Valentine 1 rules. The arrows and the bogey counter are what put it head and shoulders above the rest. Once you have the arrows, you'll wonder what the point is of those without. BTW active jammers are usually illegal and if you are hit with "instant on" Ka or laser, it's too late, you're bagged. V1 is also by far the favorite on "Ferrari chat", a fairly good recommendation. ; )
I just bought the Passport 8500. Looked at both, and the Valatine is probably a little better. But, I think the 8500 will be what I need and It's $100.00 less. Hope it works. I was "daydreaming" and found my self doing just over 100 on I-10 Last week, Passed a State Tropper, Have no Idea why he didn't give me a ticker or at least stop me. It was around 4:30, maybe he was more interested in getting home.

Made a trip to Jacksonville over Thanksgiving, the 8500 worked like a charm, on the way back I was crusing at 85 and a Black Honda Civic passed me at about 90, about a mile down the road the 8500 started beeping, so I slowed to 75, two miles latter a State John was just pulling out of the bushes, flew by me in a Camro and pulled the Black Civic over. Worked Great!
Saved me about 5 times - Busy Weekend for the Troopers.
P.S. In Florida you get a ticket at 82+, depending on traffic and location.

I picked up the 8500 and totally agree! This is by far the best radar detector I have owned and it has already saved me several times. I look forward to hearing from those of you who incorporate the laser jamming equipment with the 8500.

I got a two tickets (at different times) about 4 years ago on Hwy 20 in Fl (between Hwy 231- Panama City - and Tallahassee), for doing 62, & 64 in a 55 zone. Trooper said it was a very bad stretch of road that had the highest one car fataility rate in Fl, I still see troopers on the section every time I dive it. Including last week, 8500 worked great.

I mount the 8500 just under the Rearview Mirrow, haven't checked what it look from outside the car. I have dark tint on my windows and an "eyebraw," about a 4 " tint strip- (Dark-Limo Tint) on the windshield.

I hard wired mine with the hard wire kit it comes with. Suction cup to the windshield just below the rear view mirror.
BTW, I was able to tap into a 12v source run up the drivers side A-Pillar. Powers on when the car is running. I spent over 30 minutes trying to get the pannels off from under the steering column. I gave up and started testing the wires on the a-pillar. Its prob a 12v source for the garage door opener. :shrug:

From what I've read your right, but the 8500 works for me.
I checked out comments / specs on several web sites and seemed like to 8500 was good enough, and Cruchfield had a special on it at the time.
