Short shifter/shifter slop
Has anyone looked into having a short shifter made? I know the throw is already on the short side for an oem car, but I really dont like the plasticky feel of the throw. I looked up the car and the linkage is plastic, which could amount to some of the flex in the shifter/lack of feel but I would really prefer a much shorter, firmer feeling shift.
I was thinking about replacing the linkage with an aluminum piece and replacing the crappy bushings with heim joints where possible. I think I might be spoiled by the one we put in the z06. MGW, 60% reduction is throw length, everything is speherical bearings and every single oem shift linkage part is replaced. It feels absolutely amazing. We are a dealer, I might contact them and send them a shift linkage and see if they can do anything |

Re: Short shifter/shifter slop
Has anyone ever experienced some slop that allows the shaft of the shifter (not the knob) to pivot slightly left or right? I really want to fix that.
