Default Engine monitoring options?

Hi all,

I am looking into engine monitoring options. I have seen the guage pods but wanted to know if anyone knows of other options that will work in our cars. Is there a stereo head unit wit a pop up touch screen that can do a good job? I am looking for A/F ratio, IAT, and boost.

From Amazon : ScanGauge II 3-in-1 Compact Multifunction Vehicle Computer with Customizable Display
( $160)
very close to what you are looking for, however I don't see any A/F display ( fuel trim ? )

Gauges include:

Horsepower
Fuel Consumption Rate to 1/100th per gallon/liter
Vehicle speed (MPH)
Fuel Economy
Cost Per Mile/Cost Per Trip
Manifold Pressure (not available on some vehicles)
Battery Voltage
Engine Load
Coolant Temperature
Throttle Position
Intake Air Temperature
Ignition Timing
Engine Speed (RPM)
O2 Sensor Data
Fuel Trim
Hybrid Battery Charge (for Toyota Prius and Ford Escape)
And many more, depending on your vehicle's sensor design

Amazon.com: Auterra A-500 DashDyno SPD In-Vehicle Automotive Computer - Scan Tool, Performance Meter, and Data Logger: Automotive

pretty good price too. Some of the guys on this forum and some Eurocharged guys are using it. I can't afford the DashDAQ setup so this is my alternative.

That looks good but no wideband connection.

I would need wideband for the A/F ratio. I just called them and they said during set up it searches for wide band and if found will support and display wide band. If its only connection is through the OBDII port how would it find a wide band O2 sensor that I will have to add?

Right, I think they mean if your car is OEM equiped with wideband sensors it will display the info. For $240 your almost at the price of a Zeitronix or PLX setup.

I'm still saving up for the Zeitronics dashdaq...I think it will be worth it in the long run....if all these other little mods would go away, I would be there by now...but, rear ends, and Uncle Sam have wiped me out again...dang it...

I talked to Zeitronics and Dashdaq. Dashdaq has lot of cool whistles and bells but to get wide band A/R ratio, it integrates with the Zeitronics wide band set up. The two companies work very well together and if you look at the Zeitronics web site you can see the Dashdaq with wide band set up. for me the Zeitronics LCD display or guage looks like it would work best and is $399 with the wide band.

Latana, this may not include you but once you add all the other sensors, boost, fuel pressure, etc. it all adds up quick. DashDaq is the cream, but pricey for this cheapskate, lol. I had also thought you could add a wideband if needed to the DashDyno. Cheers

The price of the Dashdaq with the Zeitroncs wide band is $749.00 The Dashdaq does a lot of other cool stuff which I really don't need. The Zeitroncs looks like the winner for me unless there are other ideas out there.
