Sticking Cup Holder

Is there a secret method to get the cup holder to retract? Mine is really difficult to put down. I tried a little dry lube but did not help. The only sure, quick way I have found is to insert something at the front edge.

Really makes me angry, as the only time it is raised is accidental.

You have to press the top inside part of the cupholder to bring it down...

To add to what Cyril said, squeeze the front and back (black and silver) part that is sticking up at the top (what is then pointing forward when it's retracted) - if that makes any sense.

Cup holder

I have found that pressing the tab inside the holder that raises when the holder deploys causes the cup holder to retract easier.

Thanks for the tips, but mine must be out of alignment. I am only able to lower it by sticking a key in the front edge releasing the lock. I think I'll use some magic tape until the next service.
