Talking Anyway to beef up stock air intake?

I have a 06 Limited Coupe, it has dual air intakes. Is there any way I could beef it up without having to buy a needswings or K&N?

You could buy the SL55 intake. From what I hear it fits our motors well. But that would probably cost you more than the K & N filters, and almost as much as the NeedsWings intake. Personally, I'd go with NeedsWings.

Some folks have built their own. That's always an option - but only if you're into that sort of thing.

I have the SL55 setup as mentioned above.. You could probably pick one up at about 300-400 dollars. Theyre not bad, and I have noticed some gain, but personally, I would rather have a dual needswings setup. It fits probably slightly better and it will provide more gain in my opinion (and probably Robs!).

Other then that, I dunno what to tell ya!

I put mine together with bits & pieces of aluminum from a local muffler shop and bought a K&N air filter and couldn't be any more happier. Costs about $150 complete. I even have aluminum going through the radiator support instead of a silicone or rubber piece. And the good part is, no other unit out there can outperform my home grown unit. My numbers are proof.

Oooo pictures???? Sounds sexy, I'm thinking about stealing the devil horns idea and swapping the plastic tubes on the sl55 for the aluminum.

Just getting the air intakes outsidethe engine bay willhelp. I have a single 3.0" running right up to the throttle body from inside the fog light fender well. K & N filter.

Mine was a one off from Eurocharged.

About $250 bucks if done yourself.

Vast improvement.

Of course the picture shown has the K&N Extreme filter which I use for the track only and use a smaller one so I can put my grill on.

Where I come from "Sunbeam Tiger" that much radiator blockage is verboten. Heat must be considered. But I don't do 1/4 mile. Gary

That's why I removed the horns! LOL! Besides, there's a lot of room behind the filter to allow more air into the radiator. It sticks out that far.

I'm not sure what you want, but this is one variation on improving air flow to the engine.

It's harder to build Rob's intake on an N/A than an SRT - it's relatively difficult (requires some trial and error) to place the MAF right if you decide to omit the stock elbow+housing, and if you attach a home-made CAI to the stock MAF elbow, you'll probably have a bit more restricted flow than Rob's setup where he moves the MAF into his tubing.
