Default Crossfire Radio

Did I read somewherer of complaints about not being able to read the stereo display in sunlight. Will DC do anything about this. Not a big deal, just curious.

I have the same problem, but I think I saw a TSB about a replacement fix.
Anyone had this problem fixed?

NUMEROUS people have had this fixed. Yes, there is a TSB on it. Using the search tool you'll find close to a hundred posts about it.

Just had my '04 radio replaced (FOR FREE) but can't seem to figure out how to adjust the day/night display. I've read here that it is an adjustable function on the newer radios. All I can do is adjust stereo/mono and R or L side of the car. I see no other functions when using the OPT button.

Lights on / Lights off changes the display.

No difference. Remains green background regardless of lights on or off.

I will look when I go out. I know there is no adjustment you can make.

Thank you very much...perhaps the dealership hooked it up incorrectly? Maybe there are different replacement radios? I got it yesterday.

Push and hold the AUD button for a second until you get the special menu, not the normal bass treb bal. You should see the buttons like TEL AUD LCD, LCD is the one you want. Just push it to cycle thru the settings of POS green background black text/ NEG black background green text/ and AUTO this adjust the display based on the headlight switch/dash illumination.

To check the model and software version of your radio, press NAV and the #10 multi function button at the same time. If its not a nav radio then i guess try the upper right last button and #10 at the same time?

Anyway mines an '05 with nav, here is the model # BE 6811 radio software 0410713A.

Hope some of that helps.

I believe this function is only available on the radios with the navigation.

yup only with navigation,
On the standard one,
The brightness should be full up and dim a little when you turn the headlamps on.
It would be hard for them to hook it up wrong, It just plugs in.
