Default before I place an order...

Guys,

Going to place an order for a brand new Xfire, a few questions as I'm BMW man, have been for a very long time, and they are fantastic cars, but going for a change...

1. Want to lower the car, whats the best way, ie: which are the best lowering springs to use?

2. Any major problems on these Xfires I should look out for?

3. Still got this "radio" head unit question, posted yesterday.. sale hinges on this.

4. Does anyone have a "parts" CD etc for download?

THANKS GUYS.

neil.

PS: Spent allot of time last night reading posts etc, great forum.

PM "Andrew" I think he was the first (and maybe the only one) to lower his Crossfire. There are a few threads addressing it.

As to the second question...

I don't think there have been any major issues with the 05's

If you are looking at an 04, note the VIN, if it is very low (< 5000 or so) you might watchout for the tranny on the Manual.

Everything else is manageable. There are other issues, all fairly minor and/or easily fixed by a dealer.

(The 5000 was a guess-timate. Anyone know where the 1st gear fallout really ends?)

BM, The car is based on the SLK 320 platform. Same tranny, eng, suspesion, and rearend.

SLK 320 has been around for 6-7 years so mods are are around for the above.
