Default LED side lights part II

Guys, installed the " Load Resistors" re the problem with the bulb out and NO MORE problem... sorted, so after installing the LEDs, install the Load Resistor to sort out the buld out on the dash.

Install time is about 10min each side, but a neat job could take about 40mins etc..

goto www.ultraleds.com to purchase in the UK, sure he can ship outside the UK.

bmerfan,

Can you please list the part numbers for the sidelight bulbs? I think you put it in another post, but I couldn't locate it using a search.

Regards,

BobaFettm,

These are the HID sidelights mentioned on an earlier thread. The problem was that after installation the light on the dash was on. The solution is to fit a resister to reduce the current (since the HIDs draw less current) and the light on the dash goes off.

The sidelights then match the HIDs on the headlights and foglights. bmerfan has a picture somewhere.

Doh! Sorry guys, please ignore my ignorance regarding LED and HIDs. For future reference I know very little regarding electronics.

Maybe you can tell me if you could hook up the Red/Blue grain of wheat bulbs behind the grille to the same electrical connections as the indicators. You could then put the hazard lights on and get red/blue alternating flashes - this would move the Vectra over so you could get past. Would be neat if the public thought the Police had an XF.

As long as a REAL cop doesn't see ya! They seem to have some sort of problem with people impersonating cops... ops:
