Default Pop out of 1st ?

I just have picked up this coupe and do not know the history. Is there and linkage to adjust or bushings I need to replace? It has only done it once or twice but do not want to push it. Any input welcome ! Tim

04's did that for some reason that I can't remember. Search this forum for popping out of gear and you will know all there is to know about it. Good Luck

I have noticed on my 04 going into 1st sometimes it double clicks going in, and have caught myself a couple times only getting shifter into the first click, then just pop it out then right back in, 1-2 shift not over 3500 and no problems with the 1-2 shift and sets they power band in 2nd gear.

The only other thing I have found is a synchronizer may be at fault. Have any of you gone into one of these trans.? I would like to fix this before I let my daughter out in it. I thought a Syncro. was to help shift and not to hold it into the gear. I guess I should start with the fluid. Still digging....Tim

Had the same problem when I first got my 04, found out that I was being to gentle with it. Had the same problem when I got my 05 roadster, just make sure to give extra effort when shifting. Have had the 04 for nine years and the 05 for six years and has not happen sense.

Click on the link below, the first reply lists all of the TSB's for the Crossfire. Scroll down to almost the end of the listing, about 5th or 6th from the bottom is a TSB (technical Service Bulletin) for issues with the standard transmission in the 2004 models, you should be able to print a copy of this bulletin and go to a Chrysler dealer and see if they will perform the repairs. The only issue, is the age of your car in relation to the date of the TSB. They should be able to pull up the history of your car to determine if the repair had been completed and the date. If it was worked on at a dealer, I would request a copy of the report, don't just take their word for it.
Good Luck....
Dennis
