A/C Won't Blow Cold

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, fairly new, and rare Chrysler Crossfire, Manual, 95k on it. In great condition. Just recharged A/C, flushed Coolant and changed Thermostat, and for some reason it is still not blowing cold. It only blow warm/hot air... I noticed the front fan isn't running. Any advice or suggestions. I don't think there is a leak. I think it is more of a technical problem. I'm starting to read that these dual zone temp controls and be a bit tricky sometimes. Would greatly appreciate some personal knowlegde from someone who has had this problem before and/or jusy knows the possible solution. Thanks!

Test the rad cooler fan.
Do you see the A/C compressor clutch engage?
Any other symptoms?

Having someone recharge the system was your first mistake. I've owned many vehicles with over 100,000 and three with over 200,000 that never needed recharging. Improper charging of the system will cause the (damn, cant' think of the sensor's name) sensor(s) in the A/C system to inhibit the clutch from engaging. This would also cause the PTCM to not command the fan to turn.

The fan motor should turn at slow speed when you turn the A/C on, if it does not, either it is not being commanded to turn on (that makes me think the A/C is not turning on) or the Fan Control Module is defective.

:( Sorry your having this problem. My AC/Heat control head has a weird 'quirk' sometimes. The right side blows hot when the knob is set to full cold when in air conditioning mode (only sometimes). It would not be a stretch to think the same thing is happening to your left and right side. I found the 'temporary fix' to my unnerving 'glitch' by clicking the knob on the right side to the next click down (from the extreme cold side). So, try to put both rotary knobs one click off of maximum cool, and see if that slowly turns to cold on both sides. Remember, if both sides are blowing hot, it will take a few seconds to start cooling (if this is the same type of glitch I am experiencing). The only thing this will cost you is a few minutes of time. A lot less than some tech will hit you for, that's for sure! Don't give up, you may have to try a number of tips/techniques from the forum members, to narrow down your particular snafu. Good luck! :(

Another hack would be to install a cutoff valve in the hose that leads to the 2 solenoids just in front of the battery. In summer, you could basically disable all heater functions that way. At least you would then just blow ambient air, not hot air.
