2004 Crossfire Misfire DTC's P3F11 P07F0
Hi all,
First post, I was hoping someone could shed some light on the P07F0 and P3F11 dtc's The codes came along with some misfire codes but I just can't find any information on these two, on the web, MB or Chrysler. Really appreciate any help, thoughts or info. Tommy. |

Bill T. It was proscan 5.9 The only reference I eventually managed to find last night was a VAG P07F0 - TR multifunction select circuit high. Tommy. |

I have a question. What did you tell your code reader it was looking at? What platform did it ask you to use? I've tried to help, but every where I go and ever using several M/B models, I get no response. I can not find them for you..sorry. :confused:

Am I right, you have a Launch OBD II? I bought one on line recently and have to return it. In order to register and get the up-dates you need a Windows based computer. I do not. Did you know that? Nothing in the ad stated that. It is a nice unit. Bill T. |

I don't think Steve has one, I do have the Launch CRP 123, I tell it my Crossfire is a SLK320 and it's happy as a pig in slop.

The one I bought was the OBD II CRP 123 Premium. It was a real nice unit BUT, if you don't have a Windows based computer you can not get it registered or get the up dates. It does not support Apple computers. I talked with a Tech Agent for Launch and was told I should check for up dates at least every six months. Needless to say I am not going to buy a PC just to use this reader so it is on it's way back. SAD, I did like it. Bill T. |

I understand what you are suggesting, the tech from Launch said the same thing. Just not something I want to do. I don't have anyone near by I could use anyway. Not a big deal. The OBD II I have will work just fine. It just isn't as much in depth as the Launch was. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hello everyone,
I had a quick play with the CRP 129, only scanned for codes, big thanks to ala_xfire for mentioning to scan it as SLK320 because sod all happened with chrysler. Here's a shaky vid of it's first scan for anyone interested. Here's a little history, where I am up to and a few questions.... The car 2004 crossfire 3.2 EGX (a friends) had an episode, cut out and towed to local garage with multiple misfires. Unclear what exactly the garage done or tested but was told the cranksensor was changed and the next (last) step was for the ecu to be sent off for testing, this didn't happen and was now six weeks after the car had entered the garage, so, the car lands outside my house. I check the codes and have misfire on cylinder 6, Swap coils around clear the code and no more misfire. take her for a spin running fine but when I put my foot down she misses, nurse her home and we've got a miss on 6, the same scenario after swapping leads and sparks, it gets rid of the misfire, road test, put my foot down, misfire on 6. Can't get rid of the miss on 6. Checked for spark and tested the loom, all good. I pull the injectors and find no.6 is very dry with rusty residue, so all injectors get an ultrasonic clean and the fuel rail gets a good clean out, this too had rusty residue spots inside. All injectors checked out at 14.7 ohms and activated with 12v. Refitted everything swapped 5 and 6 just to be sure Cleared the code, misfire gone, then the same thing again fine until i put my foot down, miss on 6. Check over everything again, injector 6 is firing, but can't get rid of the miss on 6. Took the maf, intake elbow and throttle body out, it wasn't pretty, the two seals on the elbow were perished with the lower one actually allowing sand and dust in, the throttle valve was baked in treacle. While I was waiting for new seals and the throttle body o-ring from mercedes I changed the fuel filter, (air filters and oil were done recently) cleaned the maf and map, removed and cleaned the egr valve, checked all vacuum lines and actuators, tested all solenoids, variable intake valves, air pump, tank vent valve. Still waiting for mercedes so cleans and reseals the leaking crankcase breathers. I also found a swimming pool when I opened the fuel filler flap, eventually found the drain hose in the wheel arch, so sorted that out. Had a quick look at the ESP unit wiring and connector (ESP is light on) and found the thicker top four contact pins on the unit side were corroded. Finally get the seals from mercedes, everything back together, clear codes, misfire gone, same again, foot down miss on 6. I double checked everything all seemed in order, Struggled to get rid of the miss on 6, finally did. Cleared the codes gave it a run, same again, felt the misfire, but this time i kept flooring it and it felt like another cylinder went down then another.... Checked codes and 6, 5 and 4 had all missed. Cleared the codes, still had the miss on 6, eventually got rid of it, Tried the same again, pushed it and misses 6, 5, and 4. I'm now thinking blocked cat. Cleared the codes but still missing on 6. I remove the pre cat 02 thinking if it is a blockage that should help it breathe a little. The miss on 6 went and hasn't returned even with some good revving, haven't road tested it like this because of the noise and don't want exhaust gases toasting the engine bay. Hopefully get the exaust off tomorrow and check all that out and report back. If you're still with me, thank you, and here's the questions Do these have two cats for each bank? Fuel pressure on prime and idling is 54psi, at 3000rpm was 55psi, leakdown to 42 psi 30 mins after switch off...Are these normal figures? What is the difference between 'K' and 'G' leads? Compression on cylinder 6 is 200psi? Also, a leakdown test on cylinder 6 showed 5% loss The most important thing I have learned from all this is, never say to a friend "I'll have a look at it for you" If anyone is still reading up to this point..... your medal of honor is in the post! Sounds like you are on it like a chicken on a June bug, are you sure your name isn't Ed China ?

Yes,you guys are right, looks like the poor thing has just been used and abused. I done some more homework on this engine, am I right in saying it's the mercedes m112? Got hold of autodata's compression specs, Chrysler just specifies a minimum of 6.9 bar/100 psi where as MB SLK (170) 112 engine specifies 12-14 bar/174-203psi. I prefer the MB figures for my compression readings lol Today I got the car on axle stands, squeeeeeezed underneath (just like Ed China) lol, tried to take the exhaust apart but it didn't want to play so had to drop the lot in one piece which was a whole day's fun. I'd really like to meet the person who designed the rear hangers! They'd be meeting the last few knuckles I have left.
