M113 in 4.3, 5.0 and 5.5 naturally aspired, or M113K 5.5 supercharged.

none of those "fit" as they all require extensive modifications through both hardware and software. if you are looking for a replacement motor near identical to your OEM motor, 2002-2004 slk320

The 3.7 from the Mercedes 2004-2006 ML350. (That's the only Mercedes that used that engine in my country).

I am doing this swap at some point. The engines are relatively easy and cheap to find. You can find high mileage ones in north america for 500$ for a high mileage car or you can order low mileage ones from japan for a higher price.

In other market of the worlds, the SL350 and S350 from that same era came with the same engine.

You make around 30 more horsepower . The bolt ons of the 3.2 fit on the 3.7. I think in a NA 6 speed it's worth it if you do it yourself. You can even get it tuned to get a bit more power.

It's basically bolt on except that you to have to put the flywheel of the manual on it and change something with the fan (I don't remember but it seemed easy).

Depends on what you want. M112 is the same engine in Merc-speak so should be a near bolt in. M113 is V8 version and have been many conversions. At least around here, both are plentiful. M272 is a DOHC version but would avoid any prior to late 2007. Buick 3800 was used longitudinally in Firebird , is a 60 degree V6, and L67s make A Lot of power.


So the real question is "how much power do you want and how much work is acceptable ? (can substitute cubic money for effort).

All depends on budget and how frogy you are.
Most common is a m113, but also been a 4g63, LS and a hemi conversion.
I say go different and use a duramax :)
LS does have a huge aftermarket support and a all aluminum flat plane v8.
Just wish there was some options for mb engines at a descent price beside custom made.
Even be nice if we could code a pentastar v6, then could have a all aluminum turbo v6.
Well be nice if we could code the mopar ecu to accept our dash and cruise control, but wishful thinking.
But anything will fit and work if you spend enough $$$$

Give a budget and some could give you possible options or give us a laugh.

i am sorry to disagree Needswing but they do fit. there are over 20 conversions done in Germany alone and many in the USA. I am in the middle of a M113 Mercedes s500 engine conversion in my n/a manual x/f. There is some changes to the wiring, exhaust manifolds, different radiator fan system and the ECU is the biggest change. A lot of the items from the M112 engine are interchangeable as the engine is only a cylinder on each side bigger.

I wonder if anyone has put together a list of everything done and needed done and price of each item, and when others ask same ?'s can just copy and paste in thread.

One thing that would be nice is camshafts at a descent price.
$1,800 to $3,600 is insane for 2 camshafts.
Then would give us options with a v6.
If cams available, balance rotating assembly, either a 3.7 block or 3.2 and punch out and run on the steel sleeves, then can use other pistons besides mb and have more options, bump compresion 10.5, port heads, valve job, cams, stainless headers etc.etc. etc.
And of course tune.
And have a fresh rebuilt engine with a pretty good pump in power and torque.
The price of even some cams is rediculous and what makes these engines pretty much a disposable vechicles and terrible depreciation.
Wayyyy to many limits.
