so, even if this link could be the best (least worst?) for price (and fits), my original comment prevails:
i cant believe that bosch crank sensors are easy to find and cheap, but bosch cam that match are over twice the price and very few
yes, there are many that even bosch and low price dont fit.
1 of the mysteries that seems that will remain, of this wonderful car
anyway, thanks to the sincere, positive and polite contributions.

Hi Phil, I think I asked the same questions about the cost difference between the two sensors. I do not know the real answer but someone suggested that maybe they sell more crank position sensors than they do the cam position sensors therefore the manufacturing costs are lower due to the volume they sell. I don't know if that is true but is possible. Only the people at Bosch know the answer for sure. Honestly I've never heard of anyone having a failed cam position sensor. However many, many of our cars have had failed crank position sensors. I also think that people only replace the cam sensor because they get it confused with the crank sensor so therefore they just order both. I think I bought my crank position sensor on Amazon and it was about $25.00 - $30.00 US.

The crank sensor is just a magnetic rod wrapped with wire.
The camshaft sensor is a Hall effect transistor.
Maybe that explains it, who knows.

I had a failed cam position sensor when my car was like 3 years old. It does happen. It had trouble cranking and check engine light came on.

James1549 had a camshaft sensor fail, he replaced it with a non Bosch part which was dead on arrival.
Remember, buy Bosch or you could end up walking home.

absolutely. makes sense.
thank you for the comment.
now i understand why the difference in cost (still too much for a hall effect tx i think).
and although even if does not happen so often, is convenient to have a bosch spare ready.
