Secondary Air Injection Pump RCM Relay Replacement -- WHICH Relay?
Here’s a link to useful video showing how to clean up the RCM relay for the secondary air injection pump.
Although I had done this task some years ago, I learned a few things from watching this video, including the part number for a replacement relay, American Zettler AZ970E-1A-1D.
I ordered two of these relays from Amazon and was impressed with what was delivered: the two relays, the spec sheet, and a nice note from the CEO of Picker Components.
Great. I remove the RCM and clean the gunk-loaded contacts on the RCM relay. I had planned to replace the relay, but inspection of the relay on the RCM shows it to be a 7-pin version and the ones I received are 6-pin versions.
I check the spec sheet and sure enough there are three versions: 1A, 1B, and 1C, with only the 1C having a 7-pin configuration.
Meanwhile, my check engine light reappeared again. It doesn’t come on during initial starting, but only after having driven some number of miles.
Can someone please confirm which variant of the relay is correct? Or provide an alternate component id?
Thanks

I refurbish RCMs and use the AZ970E-1A-12D.
Only 6 pins are used.
3 are ground
2 are for the coil
1 for the contact
Anyone needing their RCM refurbished email me at tighed1@hotmail.com for details. :-)

Thanks for confirmation on relay id.
I have ordered a new check valve to replace the original(?) one that I cleaned out years ago when I also re-soldered RCM connections to deal with P0410 issues. (Unclear which action resolved problem.)
State of my RCM now: clean, good-looking solder joints; only observable problem was the gunk on the air pump relay's contacts.)
If new check valve doesn't resolve problem, I will replace relay. If that fails, I will email you.
