Help! Key Fob randomly stopped working and car won't start

Hi there - 2005 soft top coupe owner here:cool:

Just had the relay replaced about 2 weeks ago, a new battery installed in January and now Shaka (my cars name) is giving me a hard time again.

Last time this happened to me, I had to replace the key. Not sure if thats the case again.

And yes, I 1) changed the batteries 2) made sure they were in correctly 3)unplugged the battery for 60+ secs and then attempted to unlock and still no dice.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

"Car won't start" - that tells us nothing.

Does the starter engage? (yes or no)
What sounds do you hear? (If the starter does not engage, what do you hear when you turn to start?)
If you turn the key to start, then let it go back to on - does the engine cooling fan slowly ramp up to high speed in about 30 seconds? (If it does, we know what is wrong - if not, we have more questions...)

A Crossfire key FOB has 3 functions, first is a metal key to put into the ignition/door to turn the tumblers. Second is to prove to the car's alarming the correct FOB is turning the ignition with the metal part. Third is to remotely lock/unlock the car. This last function is the only function the batteries in the FOB are needed for. The first two is hardware. Did you perform the FOB re-sync procedure after the battery replacement?

Thanks everyone for your input. After giving Shaka a rest overnight, I had to manually open the door this morning and the alarm lights miraculously did not flash as they did yesterday. And she started right up with no issue. And after turning her off, the key fob also started to control the locks again.
