Parisitic Battery Drain
My wife's Crossfire (2005 Roadster) has been sitting since May. In early August the battery was still good, but when I came back from a vacation the battery was dead. It measured 1.8V. I replaced the battery, but noticed the a voltage drop in a few hours.
I have perused the forum but not found any issues that seem to match my symptoms. Here is my troubleshooting so far.
I have not found any device, light, or function left on. When I connect a trouble light between the battery and a cable the light glows very strongly, indicating a strong current flow. I have removed and inserted all the fuses I could find (one at a time). This includes the fuses at the left edge of the dashboard, the fuses in the engine compartment in front of the driver, and the fuses in the engine compartment box in front of the passenger. The current draw still continued. When I unbolted the electrical wire to the 200 amp fuse (Labeled Fuse Box Terminal 30) the test light will go out. So far I have not found the battery drain source. When I reconnect the battery cable I hear a loud click in one of the the ECM boxes in the engine compartment in front of the passenger. This is in the ECM box closest to the right fender. I do not know what this ECM unit controls.
Any ideas? I am looking for a wiring diagram and manuals to further my troubleshooting. Any suggestions on where to find a wiring diagram?
Thanks in advance
Randy

I have just found and downloaded the manual from this site. I hope it has wiring diagrams.
I did an additional step to troubleshoot that I forgot to mention. I did pull the alternator to be sure this was not the culprit.

Go to this link, then look under Engine Electrical then item #4, Mystery no start.

Thank you. I will check this out. The relay I hear close when I reconnect the battery cable is in the body control module per this diagram. But I will check the RCM.
Are you using a multimeter to diagnose your parasitic drain? See what your base milliamp drain is on your multimeter after everything has been turned off and allowed to sit for say 5 minutes and then go through pulling and replacing each fuse and see which one when pulled causes a significant drop in the drain. Around 50 milliamps of parasitic drain is normal. If you're registering a great deal higher than that you'll find the cause or at least be directed in the right direction as you pull and replace each fuse and see which one causes a big drop in the drain when pulled.
.
There is a very detailed step-by-step .pdf in the document collection here in the forum. Find it, download it, and follow the instructions within and you just may find out why the battery is draining (before you get to the last fuse). Good luck!
